Formed as a thrash act in 1987, Abaddon RD is a Dominican metal band purported to be among the forefathers of the Dominican metal band. The band's history is marked with numerous changes in both their lineup and overall sound, the most notable being a shift towards an Alternative Metal sound during the album cycle for their self-titled release. Rising from the lonely streets of Santo Domingo in 1987, Abaddon RD are living legends of the metal scene in the Dominican Republic. They are considered the forefathers of Dominican metal, facing against a small scene, bad press, lack of support from the television and radio and the sheer ignorance of the general population. Having had multiple musicians in and out of the band over the years, the band has still persevered with strength managing to release 5 albums
