10 Fold B-Low was a German metal band from the Cologne area. They were active from 2001 to 2006.
Sound and context
Their sound included hardcore punk, nu metal and death metal elements.
The band was founded in 2001, recorded its first demo CD just a few months later and began playing in small clubs in the Cologne area. A line-up change on bass and drums followed in 2003. Just a few months later, the Spanish record company Locomotiverecords became aware of the band and signed them to a contract. In spring 2004, the band released their first album, entitled Low Tuned Output, across Europe, followed by a release in the USA in the summer under the distribution of Al!ve. By then, the band had played numerous concerts in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium with bands such as Ektomorf, Hatesphere, Maroon and Cataract. In spring 2005, the band went back into the studio to record the follow-up to their debut album, which was released worldwide in summer 2005. 10 Fold B-Low was exclusively sponsored by companies such as Eastpak, Fame Guitars and Paiste.
In May 2005, 10 Fold B-Low played as a support act on the European tour (including Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Austria and Belgium) of the band Overkill. The highlight of their musical career, however, was their performance in front of several thousand spectators at the Rock Republic Festival in Turkey in the summer of 2005, which they played with scene giants such as Slayer, In Flames and Sick of It All.
Drummer Panicz parted ways with the band in September 2005 after musical and interpersonal differences, which were resolved only a few months later by the remaining band members.
