About Korn

Korn is an American nu-metal band from Bakersfield, California. Formed in 1993, the band helped shape the sound and identity of nu-metal during the 1990s.

Their music is known for downtuned guitars, heavy rhythmic grooves, hip-hop-influenced movement, dark atmosphere, and emotionally direct vocals. Korn became one of the most recognizable bands connected to the genre, influencing many later heavy alternative and nu-metal artists.

The band’s early releases helped bring nu-metal into mainstream rock and metal culture, with Follow the Leader standing as one of their most widely recognized albums from the late 1990s.
